Welcome to Birds 4 Life!

As you've probably guessed by the name of this sub-domain, we are dedicated bird parents whose love and appreciation of birds goes much further than a casual interest. As cliched as it all seems, our birds truly are the sunshine of our lives, and we simply wouldn't trade them in for anything in this world.

If you're as dedicated to your birds as we are to ours (or even if you're just a curious browser), please feel free to look around the site, visit and join our Bird Gallery and Bird and Parrot Forum, and share all your wonderful pictures and stories of your feathered kids!

As dedicated bird parents, one thing we have become increasingly aware of, is that birds and parrots seem to have achieved novelty status, and are being purchased at alarming rates by people whose interests run no further than a three week fascination with their new "toy". After the novelty wears off and the casual bird appreciator realizes that birds are delicate creatures who require love, affection, dedication and a lot of undivided attention, they ship them off to the nearest bird rescue organization to rid themselves of the "inconvenience".

Like human beings, a bird's mind is fragile and susceptible to disorders after the slightest amount of exposure to an unfavorable, neglectful situation. We want to put a stop to mass-selling of birds as novelty items, and somehow have bird ownership licensing legislated.

In this wide world of disordered thinking, superficiality, and materialistic novelties, one thing is certain: People are flawed, but birds are God's masterpiece.

It's time that the world started recognizing them as such, rather than a fad that will be dismissed and rejected when the next mechanical, no-feed, no-cuddle, no-poop, easy-care novelty item is invented. Birds are not toys, although, like toys, they are easily broken if not appropriately cared for.
